No. 9 Duane Street: Now with pictures!
I wasn't planning to update No. 9 again so soon, but I came across some exciting items in my research and, of course, had to put them up.
I've now added what is probably going to be my favorite category to the site: Images!
Currently I have five up: Three interior photos of the DSLH by Riis, plus two exterior shots showing the building from door to roof from the street. I've also added my commentary on the two exterior photos based on what I know of the DSLH, since no explanation was provided with them.
I have a number of other photos/illustrations waiting to be processed. When I get them sorted out, they too will be added to the site. So stay tuned.

Gosh, I didn't realize how big it is. Still, I pick and choose bits from reality and bits from the movie and throw them together to create my own version of life as a newsboy in 1899, so whatever new piece of information I come across can provide fodder or be completely dismissed.
As always, love the site!

I've said it before, but I just think this site is such a great resource.

Yeah. I knew how tall it was and what its "footprint" looked like relative to the rest of the block, and I was still startled by the photo.
As always, love the site!
Aw, thanks!

I do wish the LOC had bigger versions (as they do with many of their images). I've seen bigger versions elsewhere, but am not sure yet if it is kosher to link to that site.

Always happy to hear this.
