Uh-oh.

All right, so I stated quite confidently earlier that I could not properly call myself Tobey Maguire's newest fan.

But.

I just found out he has a small role in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Now, I've seen a few minutes of F&L here and there, and I cannot watch it. Not even Johnny Depp can make me watch it. Not even Terry Gilliam's directing can make me watch it. It is just not my type of movie.

But.

I am now seriously considering fast-forwarding though it, just to see what Tobey's scene is about.

I think it's a short scene. I think I can handle it.

I saw one!

The Perseids are out in force tonight.

Our local skies are so lousy with cloud cover that one can hardly see regular stars, let alone shooting ones, but I think I saw one! At least, if that tiny bright spot that streaked across the sky wasn't a good candidate, then I don't know what was.

ETA: The skies cleared up, for a while at least.

I have never been so grateful to be assigned the emergency midnight shift.

EATA: Apparently those few minutes of clear skies were all I was going to get...it's been all wall of clouds ever since. I saw a handful in that time...will have to tide me over, I suppose.
