Lost in perdition.

Huh. My library records say I checked out Road to Perdition, but darned if I can't seem to find it anywhere. I know I certainly haven't watched it yet.

I don't usually watch Navy NCIS, because sitting through the graphic crime scenes are generally not worth the couple of minutes of David McCallum that usually wind up in each episode. But I wish I'd taped tonight's: good focus on his character, plus David Marciano as a guest star. Ahh...brings back fond memories of my days in Due South fandom, where he was my main draw. Why in the world is this man not getting more work?

Yay 'Ducky'! Falconry during his youth in Scotland, eh? Heh...
And yay DMcC! ♥ ^______________________^
He's so fun!

I also like Abby a lot, not least because of her cute interactions with 'Ducky'. But then it seems this year I've been trying to get in touch with my inner Goth... 0_o

McCallum is so very cool, and I'm still annoyed that MUNCLE episodes are so hard to find.

I wish I'd seen all of last night's episode...only caught about 15 minutes of it.

Through fandom I've acquired all but a handful of eps of MfU, but the quality isn't tip-top on most of them. Better than a poke in the eye with a dirty stick.
Ahhhh, Illya.......
And Napoleon.......
They were SOOOOO married.

I taped four (I think) eps of The Invisible Man off the Sci-Fi Channel one year. (The first series I ever saw McCallum in. I saw the MfU 'movie' in '84 before I ever got to see any of the original series, alas. But I've made up for it since. ^^;) That was fun! Dr. Westin had to pretend to be a Soviet military officer in one, very briefly, and I had such a giggle-attack... ^^;;;;;

Sapphire and Steel is out on DVD (I haven't bought it YET, never saw it, but it sounds right up my alley! Whimper...it's only money...), why can't we get MfU???????????
Argh.

Ah, which 15 minutes was it?
There will be reruns eventually, one hopes. ^_^

Oh yes...I'm counting on reruns. I caught the bit where Ducky gets upset when he first finds the trident, and then explains why he takes it so personally. Well, I can't just leave it at that can I?

Funny thing, when I first read MFU years ago, I read slash. Now I read gen. Either way, NS and IK make a fabulous couple. I'm kicking myself for not picking up some eps at the last con I went to, but I didn't have an episode guide handy and didn't know which ones I'd want.

What a great couple of actors to have in the episdoe! I'll have to try and hunt down a copy myself. Maybe some of my Due South friends have it... if I can find one, I'll share. ;)

[identity profile] tallihensia.livejournal.com 2004-10-22 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I have VCR copies of all of Sapphire and Steel, though I haven't actually *watched* them myself (winces in shame). Remind me next time I come over and I'll bring them. (And if you want them, ld, I can copy) (er, when I get a life again, that is...)

[identity profile] tainry.livejournal.com 2004-10-23 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
I like both slash and gen for MfU -- the gen is easy enough to slash in my twisted little brain, and there's a lot of extremely well-written stuff out there. Some of it better than the series itself. ^^;;

Well, do you like Illya-good episodes, Napoleon-good episodes, both of them together as kickass team eps...?
There are eps available at cons????????? 0_0

[identity profile] tainry.livejournal.com 2004-10-23 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
I feel a sitcom coming on:
"After all these years you NOW tell me you have ALL of Sapphire and Steel?????? Why didn't you TELL me??????"
::glare:: "You never asked!!"

Hey, thanks. My "to watch" backlog is huge at the moment, but I'll keep that in mind. I think I've seen a bit of that, when my friend picked up some tapes at a con.

[identity profile] ldhenson.livejournal.com 2004-10-23 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I love 'em both togther. Their byplay is really what draws me, though I admit to a soft spot for Illya. Unfortunately I've seen maybe about a dozen episodes total. Stupid cable not showing them...

Last con I was at, some fans were selling episodes burned to DVD (possibly VCD, but I think DVD). Few dollars per ep, reasonable and not profit-grubbing was my impression.
