Oh...Alfie.

Still sort of on the fence as to whether to go see Alfie. Jude or no Jude, this just isn't the kind of movie I gravitate towards.

But I did come across this fabulous quote from Chris Hewitt, St. Paul Pioneer Press:

A few years ago, I stopped throwing around the word "charming" because I used it too much and because, although I recognized it when I saw it, I didn't have a great definition of the word. Now, I do: It's anything Jude Law does in "Alfie."

And in honor of that, a little Alfie artwork from yours truly:

save your Alfie and your Closer (OMG CLIVE OWEN) and wait for The Aviator. I doubt he'll be any less charming, and as a bonus he plays Erroll Flynn!!!!

I, er, actually have some reservations about him playing Flynn; someone like Cary Elwes would've been my casting choice. Not that I would begrudge Jude any screentime, of course.

::points to your icon:: Jon Stewart's awesome.

Alfie's "meh". Not unless you really have two hours to kill - Jude's the only redeeming feature.

There are worse ways to spend two hours than with Jude :-) Basically, I'd be going just to watch him talk to the camera...I'm a sucker for that gimmick.

Oh, damn. Usually I'm not one for Jude Law, but yum.

And lovely texturing, by the way.

Thanks! Trying to get that effect with just the digital tools was distorting the image/colors something fierce, so it took a lot of hand-editing to get it right.

Jude never did anything for me for years, either. In fact, I used to find him ::cough:: unattractive. But a shot like this makes a darn good argument for the opposite.
