I used to scoff at Johnny's popularity during his 21 Jump Street days, and never took him seriously after that. POTC single-handedly set me right! I probably would've dived pretty deep into that fandom had not Once Upon a Time in Mexico ::points to icon:: come along and diverted me. My Depp-phase has mostly died down by now, but I'm still looking forward to the upcoming POTC sequels.

I never got the Depp mania, either. I enjoy his performances because I think he's a good actor, but he just never did anything for me. Although, if a movie were goiong to make me hot for him, it would probably be PoC with Orlando. Now Orlando, now . . . yumm!
Oh...I have Orlando to thank for taking my opinion of FOTR from "I have zero interest in this movie, but I'll see it 'cause my friends want to go" to "whoa who's the elf?!" It was he who was responsible for my going to back to see it twice more. And then I finally paid attention to Sean Bean, and it was all downhill from there :-)

I could never get into the books when I was younger (still think the first 120 pages of the Fellowship need to be deleted, LOL), but Orlando, Aragon (especially), Sean Bean and all those other amazing actors just hooked me totally.
Thanks! It's probably my favorite line in the movie. Geoffrey Rush does some great line readings.
I actually started with a photo of a coin, then did a lot of trial-and-error with GIMP to erase the original design and add my own. The highlights on the coin were added by hand, too.
