Knotwork wolf.

Uh-oh...new addiction. The bat was meant to be a one-off, but now I'm hooked.

My knotwork wolf, in which I abandon all pretense of doing knotwork on a grid and just free-hand the thing.

Next attempt will likely be a hawk. As I've never been adept at drawing birds in flight, I foresee I'll need a reference pic for this.

*big big eyes* Whatever crack you're on, I hope you have a sizable supply. I'm really liking these.

Actually, to me they feel kind of transcultural, like those spirals that showed up all over Neolithic stone monuments. I can see it as U. S. Southwest or Celtic or Scythian, depending on how I'm thinking...

Hee, thanks. As for where the style comes from, probably just the Land of Me, heh. Sort of a hybrid of various styles, like what you named above. There's also something of pictorial calligraphy (copperplate) in there...though I'm much less concerned with the swirling flourishes, and I'm just letting the lines flow with the shape of the animal.
