I’m a sucker for just about anything “Newsies,” but learning the facts of the Lodging House, the boys and the city is fascinating. I can’t get enough of their surroundings, and the little side stories such as “Narrow Mike” and his unusual selling gimmick and the "Walking Mudgutter" bring the real newsboys to life.
I can’t say that I have a favorite section at this site. I love it all, but the photographs and the maps you’ve provided are priceless. The visuals add to my appreciation of “Newsies,” my great affection of the city and, strangely enough, have lead to my discovering some new information on my own family’s history. Dinner or just a bed? Well, I had a good day sellin’ so if they aren’t already taken, I think I’ll try one of those private beds in the dude room. How was your visit to the Lodging House? I’ve had plenty of visits to the LH and each time is better than the one before. Any questions you'd like to see answered? None that I can think of.
