Wow, my deviantArt messages exploded this morning and at first I had no idea what had happened. My first Sherlock and John papercutting wound up getting a Daily Deviation today!

It was the first of many paper-and-knife experiments so I'm thrilled that people like it so much :-)

One of my favorite exchanges from Sherlock, re-created in bobby pin form and set under glass.

Now here's something special that I'm real pleased I could help design.

Over on deviantArt, danglingdingle was looking for art for a Sherlock tattoo. She decided on an adaptation of one of my paper cutting patterns, and commissioned me to provide the linework, which I did for her in ink.

She's now had the tattoo done and it looks amazing!

I tell you, it's wonderful to have been able to contribute to someone's permanent skin art. I wish her lots of joy with it!

Been wanting to do these for ages.

A handful of little text pendants with Sherlock Holmes quotes from a mix of versions.

So [livejournal.com profile] aeroferret continued to feed my crafting addiction by giving me a shiny new craft knife ♥ Well, of course I had to put it to good use.

A paper-cutting for the Russian Sherlock Holmes series.

My original version of this nested silhouette was done with thinner paper. I've now gone back and re-cut it in cardstock.

Whew--I just found (while looking for something else) a bunch of my Sherlock Holmes crafts that I haven't seen since July. That's what happens when you're in the fannish closet, have long-term houseguests, and conceal everything just a little too well. It was nearly all of my pendants and both shadow boxes, so I'm glad to have them back.

Now off to FinalGear to see about getting ahold of tonight's episode of Top Gear.

Some of you who've followed my earlier crafting will know that this was probably inevitable.

I have no resistance against shadow boxes.

I actually did this one a while back, completely misplaced it (the boys were hastily stashed away when I had company over), and now have found it again.

[livejournal.com profile] spacedmonkey has carved a very cool Holmes and Watson (SH'09) pumpkin based on one of my paper-cutting designs! The idea never even occurred to me, but I think it turned out great.

Go check it out and Happy Halloween everyone!

So I promised myself I'd take a break from paper-cutting after this.

But then the new set photos from the Sherlock Holmes film sequel took up residence behind my eyelids and wouldn't go away.

When the 2009 Sherlock Holmes movie came out, I did a set of customizable text pendants. Now for Sherlock 2010 I wanted to do something similar, but give it a contemporary twist.

I've had this idea for weeks, but it was only last night that I found the right size drill, and...
