ldhenson: (myst iii: exile)
So last year my must-watch TV consisted of two, count 'em, two shows. And one of them (SV) dropped out of that status for half a season. I haven't watched so little first-run TV in years.

Well, I intended to keep up that trend this fall season, but a few shows have ambushed me.

Top Tier (aka Must-Watch and Probably Tape):

Queer Eye: They had a few bum episodes this season, but honestly, no more than last season. Still as entertaining, snarky, and warm-hearted as ever.

Smallville: For Michael Rosenbaum and TWOP, pretty much. Otherwise, I'd probably be gone.

Second Tier (aka New or New-To-Me Shows That I'm Giving a Shot):

Two and a Half Men: I've seen Charlie Sheen in many things over the years, but he never made much of an impression on me, so imagine my amazement at the fact that he's recently, say in the past week, entered my Vocabulary of Hot. I've seen this show only once or twice but it seems funny, so it gets added to my roster. This is also the first sitcom to be on my schedule since I stopped watching Fraiser regularly several years ago (requited love really is the kiss of death).

24: I know, I know, where have I been for three seasons? When this show first came on, it clashed with something else on my schedule, and I told myself I'd catch up in reruns, which never happened. Now I might as well jump right in.

Father of the Pride: Good-natured with enough bite to keep it fresh. I find the S&R bits funnier than the rest, actually, as that's usually where the really strange stuff comes in.

Tier Three (aka I'll Catch It When I Catch It, but Only Because I Have to Draw the Line Somewhere):

Queer Eye UK Edition: The US cast goes a long way towards making the original show work, but the basic formula is irresistable and these guys have their own brand of fun.

Reno 911: Deadpan absurdity is a winner.

Sealab 2021: Funny and twisted...but sometimes the blood and guts get to be a bit much.

Tier Four (aka Would Like to Start Watching, Had I World Enough and Time):

Without a Trace: For Eric Close.

Tru Calling: For Eliza Dushku.

Hawaii: (Yes, I looked it up.) For Michael Biehn.
