Whiplash city.
Aug. 17th, 2004 04:01 pmRemember earlier this year when I was all interested in Johnny Depp being slated to join the cast of Robert Rodriguez's Sin City, and then was later glum when, despite online news that the cast had been "locked," he didn't sign on after all? (IMDB doesn't list the character that he was supposed to play, so it appears the character got dropped, not re-cast.)
Now I've just realized Clive Owen's going to be in it. Part of the segment he's in (the movie has three; Benicio del Toro and Brittany Murphy are also featured in this one) was reportedly directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Iiiiinteresting. Despite the presence of Murphy and Josh Hartnett (the latter's appeal is one I completely fail to grasp), the movie sports an intriguing enough cast/crew (in addition to Elijah Wood and Mickey Rourke, I'm looking forward to seeing Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, and to some extent Bruce Willis) and premise that I'm pencilling it in on my 2005 movie-viewing calendar. (Or possibly even later this year. The online reports are full of conflicting info.)
