So, after saying I loathed this movie like no other in recent memory, and now that I've gotten my thoughts together, I really ought to explain why.

In short, it's appallingly lazy script-writing and a cold-blooded (in terms of how it treats its characters, yes, but moreso how it treats its audience) exercise in filmmaking, and worst of all, we're expected to lap it right up.
