After having tried to access various LJ pages this morning--including my own--with no luck, I tried to check LJ's maintenence page to see if there was any news on it. Couldn't reach it, so the next thing to try was the news page.
These was some useful info there (though not about this specific problem)--but what was also there was...I'm at a loss for words to describe it. An attempt, apparently, to turn the news forum into a barely-literate chat room. Perhaps the first badly-spelled non sequitur comment is amusing (?), but to keep it up for over twelve hundred posts?
I'm hoping it's not a typical cross-section of LJ users. Who is that starved for entertainment and/or literacy? Is it any wonder the system gets slow?
