Must not...post...fic...yet...

I came this close to putting up the first chapter of my latest fic yesterday, only to be stalled by the fact that something I wrote in the then-latest chapter meant I had to go back and revise something in Chapter 2. I've been doing this quite regularly throughout the writing, which means that I probably can't post any of it until I actually get it all finished.
This fic isn't getting done anytime soon, and yet it'd be nice to know that at least somebody would find it an interesting read...and yet I'm reluctant to show it to anyone while it's still undergoing heavy revision. (Yesterday I also had to scrap, purely for logistic reasons, two drafts of a chapter I was otherwise quite fond of. I could probably claim artistic license, but...)
Of course I can't have my cake and eat it too, and so this will stay un-posted until finished with no whining from me, but boy do I understand the temptation now, even after having two posted WIPs grind to a halt. I think it's partly because I've rarely written a fic this long, and once in a while I ask myself if it's really worth the effort. But that's beside the point, isn't it?
