Whee...found Road to Perdition in my bookshelf after all. But in the meantime I checked out Gattaca as well, so RtP is still on the back burner.

I see TVLand is doing a top ten TV cars thing. Now, I'm not a car person, but I happened to tune in just when they were doing the Torino and again later just as they did the General Lee. Well, I've got a special place in my heart for those two, and...darn if it didn't wake all kinds of nostalgia in yours truly. And I've been away from S&H fandom for too long. I may have to shell out for those DVDs after all.
They're rerunning it today...must set VCR.

You know, I'm probably dating myself when I say this, but I wish I'd paid more attention to Giovanni Ribisi when he was on My Two Dads. I have clear memories of him in that role, but what's sad is I have clearer memories of erasing the tape not two years ago. I may have been indiscriminate in what I taped back in the late '80s, but that doesn't mean I should be indiscriminate in what I erase now :-) Heck, that tape survived more than a dozen years...
Of course, I wasn't to know, two years ago, that, even though I quite liked him as an actor all along, I would one day find that thing he sometimes does with his voice--speaking his lines in the back of his throat so that they come out a little hoarse and slightly nasal--to be dead sexy. Help me.

New York Metro has a lengthy article on Jude Law and Alfie. It's downright entertaining to read the writer waxing rhapsodic over Law's looks, but it's actually a legit aspect of the article. Check it out.
I wasn't, despite the presence of Law, planning to see this movie, but after catching some clips, I may have to go after all. I'm a sucker for talking-to-the-camera done well, and I think he pulls it off.
