Rik and Ade ending their double-act...

Their reasons are perfectly legit and it's their choice of course, but...bummer. And I hadn't realized it had been quite so hard on them physically.

They're the first and so far the only guys to make me appreciate single entendres and violent slapstick, or indeed any variation on slapstick at all. Or to make me sit through anything with copious amounts of swearing. I have a low profanity threshold, but they make it almost fine. Their comedy style is so different from anything else that I like that it still amazes me how much I adore them.

Gotta go dig out some tapes to console myself. I feel like a little Bottom Live...

*sniffle* I adore those guys

Didn't know Ade was from bradford though. that explains why i adore him so much. 95% of my British family is from there, as is my Dad. nuts, man, nuts.

MUST GET BOTTOM COMPILATION AND YOUNG ONES. i love those things. best. ever.

p.s. ICON LOVE

Cool, I didn't know you were British. Is all or only part of your family British?

I haven't seen the Bottom compilation yet, either...most of my budget had already gone to their other stuff (like their blooper reel...strange to have watched the bloopers but not the actual series)! I still think Bottom Live 1 and the second act of Live 2 are genious.

Hee, thanks.

my grandparents emigrated with my Dad when he was about 5, so yes and no. half the family is still there, and the other half were until recently estranged, so I didn't even know them. it's awesome having a bunch of unintelligible-when-drunk relatives.

unfortunately they don't have much of a sense of humour when it comes to physical comedy so i'm alone in my Bottom and Young Ones love. and I never saw "Filthy, Rich and Catflap" because hey, Canada. I'm lucky I saw those other shows to begin with, late-night on YTV. *glee*

I rented the Bottom entire seasons set thing a while ago and tried to get my friend Evy loving it.... it was hard to explain the hilarity of "king's prawn to king's prawn four" and stuff. rawr. much love.

I managed to get an edited version of FRC on ebay...pretty funny stuff, and too bad the series didn't last longer. Though I wish it hadn't been edited, but edited is better than none, I suppose.

Have you seenThe Dangerous Brothers?
